Decorative Steel with a Distinctive Identity
Crossed is a contemporary steel bench designed by Stéphane Chapelet.
Its defining feature is the irregular crossed pattern cut into the steel surface. Inspired by an interwoven composition of branches and lines, the pattern gives the bench a lighter visual presence and creates changing shadows throughout the day.
Crossed combines the strength of formed steel with a recognizable graphic identity, making it suitable for projects where site furnishings are expected to contribute to the overall architectural character.
Construction
The bench is manufactured from shaped and perforated steel components with an integrated backrest.
The steel construction creates a continuous relationship between seat, backrest, and supporting structure. The open pattern also prevents the product from appearing visually heavy despite its robust construction.

Specification Text
Provide LAB23 Crossed commercial bench designed by Stéphane Chapelet, manufactured from formed and laser-cut steel with integrated seat and backrest. Steel shall receive the manufacturer’s approved exterior protective treatment and powder-coated finish in the selected color. Provide base fixing holes and anchoring provisions coordinated with the project substrate and approved shop drawings.

CROSSED bench is made of 50/10 thick steel. This urban furniture seat is characterised by a particular laser cutting “texture” called CROSSED. Under the seat 2 strong reinforcement plates in 50/10 thick steel are welded. At the base of the seat there are 2 folds, each with 4 holes of Ø 12 mm, for fixing to the ground by means of special dowels (not supplied).
This urban forniture product is realized with steel which is subsequently treated with an electrolytic galvanisation and PP powder painting with Ral colour of your choice.
As an alternative to steel, production with Corten steel can be requested. In this case the material is treated with a special oxidation cycle.
